How Are We Different?

As we all know there are many in our community that go without. We also know that there are many organizations that are out there to help with a lot of different things. We at the Munn Foundation want to do things a little differently.

The purpose of this Foundation is to help those in need, however, we are putting the focus on areas in people's lives where there seems to be a gap. When it comes to Simchas, Sadness, Shabbos, Yom Tov, etc. there are lots of ways to get help. But what about the middle of the week when people may be going without?

For example, if someone was making a Wedding, there is an Organization for that. If some one is sick, there is something for that. If they don’t have enough for Shabbos Or Yom Tov, there are many for that, as well.

But how about if they just don’t have enough for “Tuesday night dinner” at the pizza store, maybe their shoes or their kid's shoes are broken, perhaps their glasses broke, or their only "new" clothing have only ever been hand-me-downs.

While seemingly mundane, these are all real things, and we can change that.

How We Do It

QUIETLY THROUGH COUPONS

One of the ways that we are able to do this is by working directly with the schools or the local store owners. These are people that are in the know of what is going on.

At this point, we have had success in working with the schools (indirectly) and we have provided them with the use of Coupons. These Coupons have been given out totally anonymously. We don’t know who the recipients are and they don’t know who we are. This way we are able to help people and they never need to be put to shame. They can shop with the coupon and the storeowner can just get paid.

Real Accomplishments

HOW WE'VE HELPED SO FAR

We help with things that go beyond basic needs, Things that allow families and children to feel like they are not left out of activities and items their peers are enjoying they would otherwise miss out on due to financial constraints. Things like new shoes, warm coats, glasses and contact lenses, Winter Break Toy Packages, BR Production tickets, School Picture Day, Fast Day Bubble Show, Chanukah Vacation Family Pizza Dinners, Winter Break Pre1A arts and crafts. And this is not all.
